Weekly pool cleaning is the golden standard in the Coachella Valley, at least twice per week for a normal use residencial pool. One week without service can spell disaster. Your pool will look fine one summer day and turn light green the following day. 

Balancing a pool means keeping chemicals at proper levels. Cleaning a pool is more than just adding chlorine for sanitizing and acid for ph. You have to check the alkalinity, cyanuric acid, etc. When do you need a pool balance? Every time fresh water enters the pool. If the pool is new construction or you did a pool renovation and it has just been filled with fresh water you will need a special type of pool balance called a start-up, meaning great amounts of chemicals need to be added the first time you fill it up.
